The Department of History and Social Sciences is currently making a move to offer smaller introductory classes for liberal arts majors. The exciting thing about this agenda is that it allows for the ability to create thematic introduction to sociology courses.
My plans for thematic introductory courses include:
Introduction to Sociology Through TTRPGs/Dungeons and Dragons
Introduction to Sociology Through Rock Music
Introduction to Sociology and Theory Building
If everything goes as expected I will be teaching my first of these introduction courses during the Winter Quarter. This page will be updated with more information during the Spring of 2025.
If you are a potential student seeing this page wondering about Intro through TTRPGS: While it is designed for everyone even if they have no experience with TTRPGS the plan is to play during class. Yes, you will need some dice or to borrow someone else’s. Dice Goblins are always welcome.
